Call for International Workshop on Advances in Communications and Computing for Internet-of-Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a novel paradigm that is rapidly gaining ground in the scenario of modern wireless telecommunications. The IoT enables large numbers of previously unconnected devices to communicate and exchange data and deal with services that span areas from healthcare to transportation and much more, with the potential for significant benefits to people and quality of life. The IoT would also enable a range of new capabilities and services far beyond today’s offerings, which will radically change the life styles of future human generation.

Given the challenges and requirements in IoT, the purpose of this workshop is to report on the state-of-the-art of, and emerging trends in, research and practice in IoT in communications and computing. It provides a premier forum for researchers to present research results in all areas related to architecture, design, implementation, application, and evaluation of IoT paradigm.

Submissions could consist of theoretical and applied research in topics including, but not limited to:

  • Communication systems and architectures for the Internet of Things
  • Machine to machine communication
  • Network design and architecture
  • Performance evaluation and modelling
  • Networking and communication protocols
  • Software architecture and middleware
  • Energy harvesting in IoT
  • Case studies in areas of healthcare, agriculture, logistics and transport
  • Context-awareness and location-awareness
  • Location and discovery of things on the Internet
  • Mobile Internet of Things
  • Robustness of environmental management with the Internet of Things
  • Cloud platforms for Internet of Things
  • Vulnerabilities, attacks and associated mitigation strategies
  • Internet-enabled cyber-physical systems
